Intermediate Plastering +

Description
Building on the skills learned from Plastering 101 and or Intermediate plastering, delegates will use the beginners bay and will focus on the relationship between speed and accuracy to increase overall performance and spread rate, heading towards total independence and real-world obstacles, further honing your skills with even less tutor guidance.
 
This course is delivered using a practical approach in professional workshops under the direction of qualified and experienced plastering experts.
 
Progression Opportunities
Successful delegates will gain the opportunity to progress onto the Advanced Plastering course.
 
On successful completion of this course, delegates will receive a discount on purchasing Makita power tools from Data Power tools in Cardiff or Swansea. They will also receive a discount voucher for Marshall Town tools SB Tools online.

Entry Requirements
Delegates are required to have a certain level of strength and fitness as dry-lining and plastering demands. E.g. to be able to work as a team of at least two to handle a bag of plaster to be able to mix it, lift plaster boards sometimes above their head and work for approximately 2 hours straight with limited breaks/downtime.

Who Should Attend?
This course is ideal for those who have completed either the Intermediate Plastering or Plastering 101 courses, who need guidance and practice to increase competence and confidence under tutor supervision
 
Course Content
This course covers:
  • Working towards consistent spread thickness 
  • Applying plaster to multiple walls at the same time
  • Measuring the water to plaster ratio
  • Mixing plaster independently with less guidance
  • Working towards independence to assess a room, prepare, repair damage, tape and bead multiple surfaces. 
  • Wet angles, putting 2 adjacent walls on at the same time
  • Skimming around light fixings and spotlight holes
  • Learning to price a job in the real world

Required Equipment
Delegates are required to wear work wear, ideally overalls and suitable work boots, all other PPE and tools will be provided by CSW. Delegates will also need to bring a packed lunch, a 30 minute lunch break will be given.
